Portal.io Integration: Overview

Portal.io is a distributor platform that lets you select between different suppliers and compare prices across them. Access to each underlying supplier is required to retrieve pricing directly through Portal.io.

You can integrate Rev.io with Portal.io using the Integrations Library in the Admin module. The integration keeps your product costs in Rev.io automatically up to date with the latest supplier pricing from Portal.io on a recurring schedule, eliminating the need to manually look up and update vendor costs by hand.

When the integration runs, it updates the Estimated Cost on any product in your catalog that already has Portal.io listed as a provider with a valid Portal.io product ID in the SKU field. For products that have a Manufacturer Part Number but no Portal.io provider set up yet, the integration cross-references that part number against the Portal.io catalog and automatically adds Portal.io as a provider when a match is found, populating the provider SKU and Estimated Cost at the same time. Products that are discontinued, missing a valid price, or have no matching Portal.io listing are skipped and left unchanged.

The integration runs on a daily schedule by default and can be configured to match your operational cadence. The current release focuses on cost synchronization and supplier auto-linking. Future phases under consideration include pulling purchase orders and proposals from Portal.io into Rev.io.
