Step Three: Configure the Product Catalog

Your Product Catalog is the central list of all products and services that you can bill to your customers. It also determines how taxes are applied in your instance based on the Product Type assigned to each item.

If you have an extensive product catalog, you can work with our onboarding team if you can export your existing products and have our team import the catalog into Rev.io. Even if you plan to import your catalog, you’ll need to configure your providers first before the import can take place.

Menu PathConfiguration
Inventory > ProvidersRev.io is prepopulated with a Sample provider, which can be edited. A Provider is required when creating purchase orders in Rev.io.
1. Add any providers you use for your products/services (e.g. vendors, suppliers, contractors, etc.).
NOTE: After you create or import your products, you can add multiple providers for the same product and designate a primary provider.
ℹ️ Add/Edit Providers
Inventory > Product Catalog

1. Add your products manually or work with our onboarding team to import your products.
2. Set the Allow Price Adjustments option if you allow your team to change the price for the product in the system, like on tickets or quotes.
3. Set the Requires Inventory Management option if you want to track the item in your inventory.
4. Set the Requires Serial Number Tracking if you want to track serial numbers for the product (this option only displays if you set the Requires Inventory Management option).
5. Set the Convert to Asset option to automatically add the product as an asset on the customer account if the product is billed to the customer.
6. Be sure to create at least one product with the Labor Product Type if you plan to have your techs track time on tickets.
ℹ️ Add/Edit Products

NOTE: Keep in mind that it can take several hours for new products to be available on quotes.

Now that you've configured your Product Catalog, next up is Step Four: Configure Quote Templates.
