Step Eight: Configure Agreements (Optional)
Agreements help you manage customer contracts, track the time and materials that count against them, and see how profitable each one is. You can build reusable agreement templates, create agreements for your customers from those templates or from scratch, and review usage, billing, and profitability on each agreement.
If you plan to use Agreements, complete the steps below in order before you create your first agreement template. If you don't plan to use Agreements, you can skip this step.
| Menu Path | Configuration |
| Admin > System Settings > Agreements > Time Entry Rates | 1. Turn on your time log reasons for agreements. Note: Time log reasons that existed in your instance before Agreements was released in October of 2026 start out inactive and non-billable, so turn on Active and Billable for each one you want to use. Time log reasons you add after the release appear automatically. ℹ️ Add/Edit Agreement Time Entry Rates |
| Admin > System Settings > Agreements > General | 1. Choose the Labor Product Type used to bill agreement usage. This is a one-time setup. ℹ️ System Settings: Agreements |
| Admin > System Settings > Agreements > Overage Templates | 1. Create any overage templates you plan to reuse (optional). ℹ️ Create/Edit Overage Templates |
| Admin > System Settings > Agreements > Agreement Templates | 1. Build your agreement templates. ℹ️ Create/Edit Agreement Templates |
| Customers > Agreements | 1. Create agreements for your customers, from a template or from scratch. ℹ️ Add/Edit Agreements |
| NOTE: Some tabs in Admin > System Settings > Agreements depend on your permissions, so you may not see all of them. Contact support if something is missing. |
