Analytics Module Overview
The Analytics module gives your team powerful tools to visualize, explore, make informed decisions, and act on your business data. The available dashboards and charts reflect real-time information and are powered by your live Rev.io data. Permissions for the Analytics module are managed in the Report Access permission category. See the Add/Edit Roles article for more information on configuring role-based permissions.
Each section of the Analytics module is accessed via the left-hand navigation menu inside Rev.io. The options visible to you depend on the permissions assigned to your account. If you need access to a section that is not visible, contact your Rev.io administrator.
- Dashboards. Browse and interact with pre-built Dashboards for your data category.
- Charts. Explore individual charts and visualizations in the Charts library.
- Datasets. Examine the underlying data tables that power every chart.
- SQL Lab. Write and run T-SQL queries directly against your data with SQL Lab.
- Saved Queries. Save, reuse, and share queries you run frequently.
Row-Level Security
Row-Level Security (RLS) automatically limits which rows of data each user sees in Analytics dashboards based on the email address they signed in with. The dashboard layout and charts look the same for everyone, but the data inside is filtered to the individual user. No action is required from users as filtering happens automatically in the background. Administrators can view and manage RLS rules by navigating to Admin > System Settings > Analytics and opening the Row Level Security list.
Display Mode
The Analytics module follows your display preference automatically. To switch between dark and light mode, update your display preference in Admin > System Settings > My Preferences. Selecting Light switches Analytics dashboards to a light theme. Selecting System matches your device's current light or dark setting. The change takes effect the next time the Analytics view loads.
See the articles linked below for more information on the various components of the Analytics module.
