Step One: Configure General Company Settings
This checklist includes the core, system-wide settings you’ll need to complete for your company when setting up Rev.io. These configurations establish the foundation of your environment and ensure that your key processes function correctly.
Follow the steps outlined below to configure your general company settings. Most of these items are required when you are onboarding with Rev.io, while a few are optional. We recommend completing the optional steps now if you plan to use those features. If not, you can simply skip them and return later as your needs evolve.
| Menu Path | Configuration | |
| Admin > System Settings > Email Settings | Enter and validate your outgoing email addresses for the system. ℹ️ System Settings: Email Settings ℹ️ Validating Outgoing Email Addresses | |
| Admin > System Settings > Company > Company Information | Enter your company address and click the Save button. ℹ️ System Settings: Company (Company Information) | |
| Admin > System Settings > Company > SMS Notifications | Enable SMS notifications for your company (optional). ℹ️ System Settings: Company (SMS Notifications) | |
| Admin > System Settings > My Preferences > SMS Notifications | Click the Receive SMS Notifications option and enter your phone number (optional). ℹ️ System Settings: My Preferences (SMS Notifications) NOTE: Each user who wants to receive SMS notifications must complete this step. | |
| Admin > System Settings > Billing Config > Bill Profile | Rev.io comes with 2 prepopulated templates that you can edit, or you can create your own bill profile(s). Most of the settings will work fine from the template, but be sure to review the following: 1. Upload your company logo. 2. Adjust your Term Days or Due Day if necessary. 3. Adjust the Returned Payment Fee if necessary. 4. Adjust the Late Fee options if necessary. 5. Enter your company's Remit Address. ℹ️ Create/Edit Bill Profiles | |
| Admin > Roles & Permissions | Rev.io comes with 1 prepopulated Standard User role. Create additional roles needed to control permission levels for your organization (Admin, Technician, etc.). ℹ️ Add/Edit Roles | |
| Admin > User Management | When you are ready to allow users into your environment, add your users. By default, all users get the Standard User role when they log in the first time, but you can edit the user and change their role once they've logged in.
