ConnectWise RMM Integration: Prerequisites
| NOTE: Complete the following prerequisite steps in ConnectWise Asio before configuring the integration in your Rev.io environment. To generate API credentials, you will need administrator access to your ConnectWise Asio account. |
The ConnectWise RMM integration authenticates using OAuth 2.0 client credentials generated in the ConnectWise Asio platform. During configuration you will need to provide a Client ID and Client Secret. Follow the steps below to generate them.
Generate API Credentials in ConnectWise Asio
- In the ConnectWise Asio platform, open the side navigation and go to Integrations > API Access.
- Click Generate API Access or Generate Access.
- Enter an API Key Name and Description that identify this integration, such as "Rev.io PSA Integration."
- Select the scopes required for the integration (company and site access), then select the Consent checkbox to accept the API access agreement and save.
- Copy the Client ID and Client Secret and store them in a secure location such as 1Password or AWS Secrets Manager. The Client Secret is shown only once. If you lose it, you will need to generate new credentials.
| NOTE: You do not need to provide a regional API URL. The integration auto-detects your ConnectWise RMM region (NA, EU, or AU) from the first four characters of your Client ID. |
Before You Begin in Rev.io
You will also choose a Rev.io bill profile during configuration. This is the bill profile assigned to any new Rev.io customers created from ConnectWise RMM companies. Make sure the bill profile you want to use exists and is active in Rev.io before you begin.
