Marking Time Logs as Billable

Marking time logs as billable automatically adds a line item to the Parts & Labor tab on the ticket. That time, along with the other parts and labor charges, can then be sent to Rev.io Billing using the Send to Billing option in the Transaction Details section on the ticket stage. See the Sending Tickets to Billing article for more information.

Saving time logs marked as Billable also automatically adds a Work Performed note to the Activity tab on the ticket. See the Ticket Details - Activity Tab article for more information.

Marking Time Logs as Billable

Marking time logs as billable is as simple as clicking the checkbox in the Billable field when creating or editing a time log to indicate that the log is billable.

Additionally, the Reason selected for the time log makes default selections for the Product Code, Hourly Rate, and Billable status. The Product Code is tied to the Reason and cannot be changed, but both the Hourly Rate and Billable fields can be adjusted manually.

You can mark a time log as Billable even if the selected time log Reason defaults to not billable.

Viewing if Time Logs are Billable

Viewing whether a time log has been marked as Billable can be done from both the Time Logs tab on the ticket and from the Time Log Details screen.

Billable Logs on the Time Logs Tab

A checkmark displays in the Billable column on the Time Logs tab on the Ticket Details screen if the time log has been marked as Billable

Additionally, the Billable Time column displays the amount of billable time allocated to the time log, which may differ from the Actual Time logged to the ticket depending on the rate minimums and rounding determined by the Reason selected.

Billable Logs from the Time Log Details

When viewing details for an existing time log, a checkmark displays in the Billable field if the log has been marked as Billable.

Additionally, the Billable Time field displays the amount of billable time allocated to the time log, which may differ from the Actual Time logged to the ticket depending on the rate minimums and rounding determined by the Reason selected.
