Step Five: Configure Invoice Templates

Invoice templates define how your invoices look when they are sent to your customers, including the layout, branding, and information displayed. Templates can be set up as one-time or recurring, and you can set one default template for each type.

💡 TIP: Set a default template for both one-time and recurring invoices before your first billing cycle, so every invoice that goes out uses your branding.

Follow the steps outlined below to set up your invoice templates. You can edit an existing template, start from the system default template, or create your own from scratch.

Menu PathConfiguration
Admin > System Settings > Billing Config > Invoice Templates1. Review the pre-populated templates in the list and decide if you'd like to edit one or create a new one by clicking the + New Template button.
2. Enter a Template Name and select the Template Type (One-Time or Recurring).
3. Click Load System Default Template to use the system default as a starting point, or build your template with the drag and drop editor or in HTML.
4. Add your logo and any other branding to the template.
5. Check Set as Default to make the template the default for its invoice type.
6. Click Preview to see how the invoice will look, then click Save Changes.
