# Create API Keys

From the API Keys list view, you can create new API keys for your Rev.io instance in just a few easy steps. An API key is a unique identifier that allows secure communication between your Rev.io platform and other applications.

| **NOTE:** Be sure to copy the key when you are creating it. Once the API Key Created window is closed, you will not be able to view the key again. |

1.  From the API Management screen, click the **New API Key** button.

2.  Enter a unique **Name** for the API key and click the **Create** button.

3.  Copy the API key for use with other applications and click the **Close** button when you are finished. **NOTE: You will not be able to access this key again once you close this window.**
